Lourdes Cirlot

Dra. Lourdes Cirlot is a professor of History of Art in the University of Barcelona since 1997. She has been giving classes in the Department of History of Art of the Faculty of Geography and History of the University of Barcelona since 1974. Her teaching and her research focus on the art of the 20th and 21st century. She has published numerous books and articles about various subjects of contemporary art.

She was vice-dean in the Faculty of Geography and History between 1996 and 1999. She directed the Department of History of Art from 1999 until 2005. Currently she is the vice rector of Arts, Culture and Heritage of the University of Barcelona.


Anna Casanovas

She has studied Contemporary and Modern History and is a Doctor of Art History. Her doctoral thesis was on the post-revolutionary soviet cinematography.

Currently she is a titular professor of Cinema and Audiovisuals at the University of Barcelona.

Between the years 1998-2007 she participated in the Doctorate course Art, Nature and Society giving the class Video Creation: The body as a space of artistic practice.

From 1990 to 2005 she imparted the class The image of woman in the audiovisuals within the Master Program of the Centre of Studies of the Women (DUODA) of the University of Barcelona.

Since 2007 she is a professor in the new Master of the University of Barcelona Advanced studies in Art History

For 10 years now she has participated in a research group financed by the Secretary of the State and Universities and Research entitled Art, Architecture and Digital Society. Result of her research are her numerous publications that cover her expansive lines of research.


Alberto T. Estévez

Alberto T. Estévez (Barcelona, 1960), architect (UPC, 1983), doctor of Science (Architecture, UPC, 1990), art historian (UB, 1994), doctor of humanities (Art History, UB, 2008). Owns a professional studio of architecture and design (Barcelona, 1983-today). For more than 25 years now he has worked in different universities in Spain and abroad, in the areas of knowledge of architecture projects, architectural composition and art history, until he founded ESARQ (UIC, 1996), where he served as the first director. There he also founded two lines of investigation and their respective masters and doctorates that where his double profile of practice (“Genetic Architectures / Biodigital architecture” 2000-today) and theory (“History, Architecture and Design”, 1998-today) act as a guarantee. He has also made hundreds of publications, has participated in exhibitions, congresses and conferences in Europe, America and Asia.

Daniel López del Rincón

Daniel López del Rincón has studied Humanities at the University Pompeu Fabra (2005) and History of Art at the University of Barcelona, obtaining the Special Award for Degree (2008).

He got a Master's Degree in “Advanced studies in Art history” by the University of Barcelona and currently he is a PhD student in the Department of Art History of the University of Barcelona.

Since January 2009 has been a scholar of the investigation group “Art, Architecture and Digital Society”, directed by Dra. Lourdes Cirlot, with whom he collaborates.

His lines of investigation focus on the impact of new technologies on the body, on artistic practices and theory.
